Tá cuireadh á thabhairt do theaghlaigh Ghaeilge páirt a ghlacadh i bpicnic speisialta Gaeilge a bheas ar siúl ar 12.30pm ag Eamhain Mhacha Dé Luain 25 Bealtaine. Tá an picnic á eagrú ag CAIRDE Teo agus is féidir le teaghlaigh bualadh leo sa charrchlós ag an ionad le siúl an achar gearr a fhad leis an chnoc féin. Is é an aidhm atá leis an phicnic ná páistí ó Ghaelscoileanna a spreagadh an teanga a labhairt taobh amuigh den seomra ranga agus deis a thabhairt do thuismitheoirí bualadh le chéile agus smaointí a roinnt i dtaca le tógáil páistí i dtimpilleacht dhátheangach.

Iarrtar ar theaghlaigh a bpicnic féin a thabhairt leo agus páirt a ghlacadh sa spraoi ag Eamhain Mhacha ar an Lá Saor Bainc. Chomh maith le cluichí traidisiúnta agus toraíocht taisce nadúir, beidh na páistí in ann an aip dátheangach, Dúshlán Chú Chulainn, a imirt. Ba é Cairde Teo a d’fhorbair an aip anuraidh i gcomhar le Macha Media agus le Digital Keys Production. Tríd an aip seo, foghlaimíonn páistí faoin seanchas agus faoi na scéalta a bhaineann le hEamhain Mhacha, agus iad ag glacadh páirte i roinnt cluichí spraíúla idirghníomhacha.

Más tuismitheoir le páistí thú ó Ghaelscoil agus más mian leat freastal ar an phicnic, is féidir labhairt le Seán sa siopa Gaeilge Seacht sa Eurospar in Ard Mhacha, rphost a chur chuig sean@cairdeteo.com nó scairt a chur ar 028 3751 5229.

Irish speaking families are being invited to take part in a special Irish language family picnic at 12.30pm at Navan Fort in Armagh on Monday 25 May. The picnic is being organised by Armagh city-based Irish language and cultural group CAIRDE Teo and families may meet up in the car par at the centre to walk the short distance to the hill itself. The aim of the picnic is to encourage children from Irish medium schools to use their Irish outside of the classroom and to give parents the opportunity to meet up and share ideas about raising children in a bilingual environment.

Families are encouraged to bring along their own picnics and join in the fun at Navan Fort on the Bank holiday. As well as traditional games and a nature treasure trail, children will also be able to play the bilingual app Cú Chulainn’s Challenge which was developed by Cairde Teo last year in conjunction with Macha Media and Digital Keys Production. The app encourages children to learn about the myths and legends associated with Navan Fort, while taking part in a number of fun and interactive challenges.

If you are a parent of children from Irish medium schools and you would like to attend the picnic, you can contact Seán in the Irish language gift shop, Seacht, located in the Eurospar shopping centre in Armagh or on sean@cairdeteo.com or 028 3751 5229.
